When ccusage is enough
If you live in the terminal and you only want a usage dump, ccusage is a reasonable default. It is not a dashboard, and it is not trying to be one.
UsageAtlas is for people who also want remaining windows, reset times, a history view, and Claude, Cursor, or OpenCode in the same picture.
When you want a desktop view
Install UsageAtlas, let it read the signed-in Codex CLI, and open Today or History. No UsageAtlas account is required. A free account is available for cloud save and restore. Prompts are not read.
It does not wrap or replace ccusage. It does not instrument Codex in the APM sense. It reads supported local usage state and renders aggregates.
Questions, answered
Is UsageAtlas a ccusage-codex fork?
No. It is a separate local desktop app with its own adapters.
Can I keep using ccusage?
Yes. The two are not exclusive.
Does UsageAtlas support Claude Code as well as Codex?
Yes. Cursor and OpenCode too.
