To get notified of new job postings where you will actually see them, point an AI monitor like AyeWatch at the careers pages and role descriptions you care about, then route its alerts to your phone, a Slack or Discord channel, or your own code. Job board emails are fine for browsing; this is for the roles you do not want to miss.
Developers are used to alerts that land in the right place. A job search can work the same way.
Start with what the boards send
LinkedIn and Indeed both have job alerts built from a saved search. LinkedIn's help page says they arrive daily or weekly, by email, in-app notification or both. Indeed's help centre describes daily or weekly emails, and no email when nothing new matches. Both are free and worth keeping on for discovery.
What they do not do is watch a specific company's own careers page, or match on meaning rather than the terms you saved.
Add a monitor for the jobs that matter
AyeWatch watches two kinds of source:
- Pages. Paste any public URL, such as a company's careers page filtered to engineering. It tells you when a meaningful detail changes, with a short summary.
- Topics. Write a description such as "staff or principal engineer roles working on developer tools, remote in Europe". AyeWatch follows that across the web.
You can also add a rule to either, in plain English, to skip what you do not want: "ignore internships and roles that require relocation".
Pick the channel
Where the alert lands decides whether you act on it. AyeWatch lets you choose channels per topic.
| Channel | Plan | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Push notification | Every plan | Hearing about a new role on your phone, iOS or Android |
| In-app feed | Every plan | A running log of everything that changed |
| Email and daily digest | Paid | A calmer once-a-day review |
| Slack or Discord | Paid | A private job-hunt channel, or a shared one with friends who are also looking |
| Webhooks | Paid | Sending alerts into your own tools |
| REST API | Paid | Creating and managing topics from scripts |
For people who want to script it
The webhook and API options are where this gets interesting for developers. According to AyeWatch's home page FAQ, every paid plan includes a REST API to create, list, update and delete topics, and signed topic.update webhook events that carry the AI-written summary.
That opens up small, useful automations:
- A script that adds a careers page monitor for every company on a spreadsheet of targets.
- A webhook handler that appends each new posting to a tracking sheet or a Notion database.
- A bot that posts new matches into a channel and tags you.
None of this is needed to start. Push alerts on the free preview are enough to test whether the matches are good.
Cost
AyeWatch has a free preview with no credit card. Paid plans, which add the email, chat, webhook and API channels, start at $9 a month and are billed in monitoring credits. See the AyeWatch plans for the tiers.
When to skip it
If you are open to almost any employer and only need a daily list to scroll, LinkedIn and Indeed alerts cover that for free. A monitor earns its place once you have target companies or a role that keyword searches keep missing.
For the job-seeker side of this, including keeping your resume ready so you can apply as soon as an alert fires, see AyeWatch's post on applying first.
